Arkangel'sk Gingerbread (Kozulya)
Gingerbread of the 19th century depicting human figures, deer, cockerels and cats, has been preserved in several museum collections in Russia. Old gingerbread molds (manery), which had been made by master craftsmen, are now found in museums and they help preserve and revive old traditions. Along with the carved wooden molds, recipes for gingerbread have been handed down from generation to generation.
