Shaft-bow

One implement that received special attention was the yoke, duga, for harnessing horses to wagons or sleighs. Tall and bow-shaped, curved to fit a single horse or a pair, it was painted with strips, lozenges, hearts, or bright floral patterns, sometimes carved, or hung with small metal bells.
