Dolls
Russian wooden dolls known as matreshka, were first created in the mid-1890s in the Moscow workshop of art patron Savva Mamontov called " Bringing Up Children."
The idea of turning forms that could be put inside each other existed in Russia earlier, for example, there had been nested Easter eggs and dishes called "cup in cup." But the real stimulus was a toy brought from Japan, called "toli."
