A House in the Volga River Region.

Houses in the Volga River region displayed distinct forms of architecture and decoration. Facades were lavishly decorated, especially the pediments. Key ornamentations were frontal boards (lobovaya doska), cornice boards or horizontal friezes along the pediment, boards covering the roof butt-ends (prichelina), and side small boards or 'towels' hiding the joints of logs.

The small and big entrances to the courtyard gate and wicket-door were surmounted by arches. These were decorated with carved boards. Gates were closed with double doors, and wicket-doors were closed with one door.
