Bear Beehive
The history of the beehive in the form of a bear goes far back to a time of totemic animals and the worship of a terrible bear that lived in forests all over Russia. An unknown artist made this beehive from a huge thick log, generalizing the figure of a bear. He did not emphasize the features of the animal, and this made it look heavy, static and monumental. At the same time a paw hung down as though hiding the hole for taking out honey. This gave the whole figure a roguish look.
